Photo of the artist Dory Whynot. Caucasian woman with green eyes and long brown wavy hair. She wears black wire rimmed aviator glasses and black lipstick. Green leaves obscure the upper right corner of the photo and cover one of her eyes.

Dory Whynot is a painter and illustrator based in Maine.

Working primarily in watercolor and ink, she focuses her portraits and figurative-centric work with themes of nature, romance, and the macabre, contextualized in the blurred threshold between physical and surreal states of being. She’s also a massive sucker for emotional, in-depth character-driven stories in film, books, and games. She loves the woods, the ocean, cats, and anything having to do with vampires.
